Ryton Pools Opening Times, Parking and Ice Cream
Everything we're asked about visiting the park near Coventry — park opening times, parking, directions, facilities and where to find our ice cream trailer.
Last reviewed: September 2026. Park information is managed by Warwickshire County Council — please check the official Ryton Pools visitor information before travelling.
Is there ice cream at Ryton Pools Country Park?
Yes. There's a soft-serve ice cream trailer at the park, next to the Foothills Play Area, serving cones, 99s, Twirl Trays, ice lollies and cold drinks on the days it's trading.
Who serves ice cream at Ryton Pools?
Twirl & Swirl, a family-run ice cream business. Our trailer Scoops is the permanent unit at the park; Sprinkles (events trailer) and Flakes (ice cream van) cover weddings and events across Coventry and Warwickshire.
What are the official park opening and parking arrangements?
The park gates open at 8am all year with seasonal closing times, and the main car park is pay and display. Both are set by Warwickshire County Council — the seasonal times and current charges are set out below, and the definitive source is the Warwickshire Country Parks page for Ryton Pools. These are the park's arrangements, not Twirl & Swirl's trading hours.
Is Twirl & Swirl open today?
Our trading hours are separate from the park's gate times — we're never open for the whole time the park is open. Opening days and times can vary depending on weather, season and private events. Check our latest updates before travelling.
The hours we've published for the week ahead are just below. If you're making a special journey, please check our latest social update or contact Twirl & Swirl before setting off.

Parking and parking charges
There's a pay-and-display car park at the main entrance off Ryton Road. There's no charge to enter the park itself — parking is the cost of a visit. It's the easiest place to start and only a short, level walk from the play areas, toilets and our trailer.
Charges are set by Warwickshire County Council and can change — check the official page before you visit.
Directions and postcode
The park address is Ryton Pools Country Park, Ryton Road, Bubbenhall, Coventry, CV8 3BH. Set your sat nav to CV8 3BH and follow the signs to the main entrance off Ryton Road, where you'll find the pay-and-display car park.
Where to find Twirl & Swirl
Our trailer Scoops is next to the Foothills Play Area, a short, level walk from the main car park. Look for the pink trailer near the play equipment.
Ice cream menu
We serve freshly made soft serve, 99s, waffle and sherbet cones, our signature Twirl Tray, ice lollies and cold drinks. Products and availability vary between our units and with current stock, so please ask at the hatch about allergens before ordering.
Browse the full Twirl & Swirl menu or hire our ice cream van for an event.
Play areas, walks and things to do
Pirate Play Area
The bigger of the two, popular with school-age children and easy to reach from the car park.
Foothills Play Area
A second play space to spread out into when the park is busy at weekends — and where you'll find us.
Surfaced trails loop around the pools, so you can do a short circuit with a pushchair or head further out into the meadow and woodland paths. The lakes are good for spotting wildfowl and dragonflies in summer, and the woodland edges are quieter if you want a calmer walk.
Facilities and accessibility
- • Wheelchair-friendly surfaced paths around the main areas

Dogs and park rules
